Medical Lake pitcher Kelby Wegner managed to wiggle out of trouble in the first couple of innings until her teammates’ bats came alive.
The Cardinals scored nine runs in the final four innings to defeat Deer Park 13-7 in Great Northern League softball action on Tuesday.
The Lady Stags pushed runners to third base in the first two innings only to come up empty on the scoreboard. Deer Park finally scored twice when Medical Lake catcher Faith Keister could not handle a two-out third strike pitch from Wegner.
