Lady Rams use balanced approach to stymie Cougars

The Riverside girls basketball team, using a balance attack, defeated the Chewelah Cougars 47-34 for their first Northeast A League win in four tries.
The Lady Rams were finally able to put some distance between themselves and the Cougars with a 9-3 run to end the second quarter. The offensive spurt was highlighted by a three-point shot by Brielle Supanchick at the halftime buzzer.
First-year Riverside coach Buddy Wood was pleased with the way his team ran the offense, especially the way they moved the ball on the perimeter looking for the open shot.

Cougar scoring explosion buries Rams

The Chewelah Cougars broke open a close game with a 7-0 run to end the third quarter and another 23-5 surge in the fourth quarter as the defeated the Riverside Rams 63-37 on Tuesday.
The win improved the Cougars’ Northeast A League record to 3-1 (11-3 overall) while the Rams fell to 0-4, 4-10.
Leading on 30-29 midway through the third quarter, the Cougars used three-pointers from Ben Johnstone and Caleb Wiese to take a 40-29 lead into the final stanza.
