June 26th
It is with profound love that we celebrate the life and mourn the loss of our mother, Etta Marie Clarkson. Surrounded by her dedicated and loving family, she was welcomed by the lord on June 22, 2012.
Etta was born on Sept. 30, 1919, in Harper, Kansas to John and Ida Phye. She later married James Clarkson on Sept. 24, 1942, in Anthony, Kansas. Shortly after, they filled their home with the birth of their three children, Ralph, Richard, and Jana.
Liesbeth Urbat, 90, a woman of great strength and courage, was called to rest in heaven on June 16, 2012.
Born in East Prussia, Germany, on June 24, 1921, she was raised on a small farm with her father, mother, and brother, Erwin. As a young woman, she found herself amidst World War II. With only days left before a Russian attack on their tiny farming community, families were advised to flee. Liesbeth heeded the advice and fled, only to return to the village later where she learned that her family who had stayed behind had not survived the attack.
