Funeral services will be 11 a.m. on Oct. 1 at the River Christian Church, N5201 Market, with the Rev. John Hickman officiating, for longtime area resident Steve Saywers, 60, who passed away on Sept. 16 in Spokane.
Born on May 2, 1951, in Sunnyside, Wash., he served in the Air Force and Army and earned several college degrees.
A remembrance gathering will be held from 12-3 p.m. on Sept. 24 at the Deer Park Veterans of Foreign Wars Post Home, E29 First St. for Michael T. “Mike” Bryan, who passed away on Sept. 16.
He served in the U.S. Navy, and later returned to service in the U.S. Army.
He was an avid reader and storyteller. He was also a craftsman and nature enthusiast who was affectionately referred to as a “Renaissance Man.”
He is survived by four daughters, Karen, Jamie, Jackie and Pamela; two sisters, Diana and Patricia; grandchildren; and extended family.
Private family services will be held in Orland, Calif., at a future date for Patricia Ann Karle, 72, who passed away on Sept. 17 at her Deer Park home.
Born to Lloyd and Doris (Patrick) Watson on July 8, 1939, in Manteca, Calif., she met her best friend and the love of her life, Henry "Jerry" Karle, in high school. They were married on Nov. 27, 1957, in Carson City, Nev. They were together until Mr. Karle’s passing on Aug. 16, 2006.
