Philip D. Bacon, 60

The memorial service for Philip Dean Bacon, who passed in September, was held on Saturday, June 4 at 2:30 pm at his parents’ Little Pend Oreille Lake home; the ceremonial spreading of his ashes took place at his Deer Creek home later that weekend.
He is survived by two of his children, daughters Amber and Breanne, and granddaughter Katya; as well as a niece and nephew and various extended family. Philip loved his children greatly and often spoke of their accomplishments proudly.

Margaret E. Kohlieber Preston, 32

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. on June 9 at the Spokane Valley Church of the Nazarene, with the Rev. Jeff Crosno officiating, for former Deer Park resident Margaret E. “Maggie” Kohlieber Preston, 32, who passed away on June 1 in Spokane.
Born in 1979 in Spokane, she was an assistant manager at a restaurant in Spokane.

Claude L. Bowers, 90

Claude Lincoln Bowers was born to Willie and Lillie Bowers in Skiatook, Okla., on July 21, 1920. In 1947, he married Genevieve Webb in Sunnyside, Wash. They were married until her death in 1977.
Later, he married Lillian Phelps in Spokane. They were married until her death in 1991. He died in Portland, Ore., on May 28, 2011.
During his service as an army medic in World War II, he spent 18 months as a prisoner of war in the South Pacific theatre.
He attended Northwest Bible College in Kirkland, Wash., prior to becoming an Assemblies of God minister.

Caroline D. Richards, 47

June 7, 2011

Funeral services were June 4 at the Riverside Chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Chattaroy, with Bishop Joel Stapf officiating, for Deer Park resident Caroline D. Richards, 47, who passed away on May 31 in Spokane.
Cremation followed the service with Lauer Funeral Home, Deer Park, in charge of arrangements.

Violet M. Zimmerer, 90

A celebration of life was June 4 at the Clayton Grange for longtime Clayton resident Violet M. Zimmerer, 90, who passed away on May 30.
Interment was held on June 6 at the Riverside Memorial Park, Spokane, with Bill Mayfield speaking.
Lauer Funeral Home, Deer Park, was in charge of arrangements.
