A gun found by school children on Jan. 23 has been confirmed by the Washington State Crime Lab as the weapon used to kill Harry “Ed” Giesbrecht, 53, at his Deer Park home on Jan. 4.
Richard Klepacki, 62, was arrested for Giesbrecht’s murder shortly after the shooting.
A Deer Park Elementary School-aged student found the gun next to the road while on the way to the school bus stop. The child picked up the gun, brought it to the bus stop and threw it on the ground. A parent waiting at the bus stop noticed the gun and retrieved it. The weapon was loaded.
