Some city residents were in for more of a surprise than the couple of inches of snow last week.
Spokane County Sheriff’s Department deputies issued about 10 tickets to motorists who ignored the no-parking signs that are found downtown, in new residential areas or locations that have narrow streets.
The posted signs make it illegal to park on the street from 3-8 a.m. daily from October to March.
The tickets, depending on which deputy wrote them, carry a $20 to $35 fine.
