RMS pair earns spot in statewide video competition

The documentary video produced by Riverside Middle Schoolers Olivia Willis and Cody Main, entitled “Savior of a Broken World, an examination of the rights and responsibilities associated with the rules of war, was among the winners in the National History Day competition at the University of Eastern Washington earlier this year.
The video will advance to the state history day competition in May in Auburn.

Vera L. Rock, 96

Vera L. (Sanford) Rock was born April 1, 1917, in Wickes Ark., the second of five children. She died March 18, 2014 in Spokane.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Mont Rock; an infant son, James A Rock; an adult son, Don Rock; and her elder brother.
She is survived by five children, Mont Rock, Jack Rock, Joe Rock, Judy Evans and Dixie Rock; one brother; two sisters; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Vera was a long time resident of Wild Rose Prairie where she and Mont had a dairy farm.
