Mildred L. Winward, 82

Mildred Louise Winward, 82, went to sleep in the Lord’s arms on Feb. 5, 2013, in Spokane.
Mildred was born in Wingville, Ore., on July 29, 1930, to Vernell and Velma Morin. She was the oldest of six children. Mildred spent most of her childhood in Hereford, Ore., where the family farmed and ranched.
She married Amos Gail Winward (Gail) on Aug. 3, 1961. They made their home in Lakeview, Ore., where they raised their two children, Rebecca Louise (Kinney), 46, and Matthew Glenn Winward, 45.

Velma M. Ceasar, 76

Velma May Ceasar was born on March 28, 1936, in Deer Park, the first child of Benjamin and Ida Mae Ceasar. Velma grew up in Brown’s Addition in Spokane and attended Spokane Christian schools.
She graduated from Northwest Christian High School in 1955. Velma worked with her father in the family accounting business and later worked as a bookkeeper in Santa Monica, Calif.
Velma devoted herself to caring for her mother whose health was always precarious. Health reasons prompted the move to Santa Monica, where Velma lived until her mother’s death. She returned to Deer Park in the early-1990s.
