A celebration of life ceremony will bea held at 11 a.m. on March 24 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, N34221 Newport Hwy, Chattaroy, for former Riverside teacher Cory C. NeVille, 61, who passed away on March 15, 2012, at his Usk home.
Born on July 25, 1950, in Powell, Wy., to DeForest “J” NeVille and Audrey Andrews, he attended Powell High School and earned a track scholarship to Brigham Young University. He married Carna Patch and started his family and teaching career in Provo, Utah, before moving to Spokane.

Linda E. Abrahamson, 64

A funeral mass will be 10 a.m. on March 24 at St. Philip Benizi Catholic Church Ford, for former Ford resident Linda E. Abrahamson, who passed away on March 19 in Spokane.
Born on Feb. 15, 1948, in Nespelem, Wash., the ninth child of the late Milo and Millie Abrahamson, she grew up in Ford and graduated from Springdale High School. After high school she moved to Spokane, attended business school and later worked at the American Indian Center.
She was a member of the Spokane Tribe of Indians and an active member of St. Philip Benizi Catholic Church in Ford.

WSDOT extends studded tire deadline

Drivers will have a little more time to remove their studded tires this year.
The Washington State Department of Transportation extended the studded-tire season through the end of April 16, as forecasts call for possible winter driving conditions through the heavily traveled Easter weekend. WSDOT officials don’t anticipate any further extensions beyond April 16.
