A celebration of his life was held on Feb. 25 at Manito Presbyterian Church, Spokane, for longtime Deer Park resident Aaron E. Olson, 86, who passed away on Feb. 17 in Spokane.
Born on July 5, 1925, to Lois and Ed Olson in Spokane, he was reared on a farm in Deer Park. He, along with his older brother, James, and his younger sisters, Adeline and Caroline, helped with his family business known as the Six Pines Ranch.
In 1943, he graduated from Deer Park High School and then enlisted in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He also served during the Korean War.
Aaron D. Miller, 24, pled not guilty on Feb. 28 to various charges stemming from his apparent three holdups of the Medicine Shoppe Pharmacy in Deer Park this winter.
Miller, who is being held on $100,000 bond, faces first-degree robbery, second-degree robbery and attempted second-degree robbery charges.
Spokane County Sheriff’s Detectives believe Miller was the gunman who robbed the store of oxycodone on Dec. 5 after displaying a gun and placing a note on the counter demanding drugs.
Miller fled the scene on foot.
