Springdale man killed in deputy-involved shooting

An investigation continues into a sheriff’s deputy-involved shooting near Springdale on Friday night.
According to police reports, a Springdale man called the Stevens County Dispatch Center at around 11 p.m. on Friday. A short time later deputies arrived at the man’s home on Deer Creek Road and a confrontation ensued.
A shot was fired, hitting the man. Emergency crews on the scene pronounced the man dead.
The Spokane Investigative Regional Response Team has taken over investigation of the incident. The deputies were placed on administrative leave.
