Logger killed in accident near Springdale

A 55 year-old man was killed in a logging accident near Springdale on Wednesday.
According to preliminary reports, rescue crews were called at around 5:30 a.m. after Robin J. McCalister was hit by a log. Medstar was dispatched a short time later.
Emergency crews worked on the victim but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Lady Stags roll in soccer opener

The Deer Park Lady Stags buried their Riverside counterparts 12-1 on Tuesday in the season opener for both schools.
The got the goal-scoring avalanche started at the 13-minute mark when Ashton Martinson beat Riverside goalkeeper Brittany Hoog. It was the first of four goals Martinson scored in the first half.
The Lady Rams’ Ashley Uhlenkott scored Riverside’s lone goal at the 32-minute mark. The Lady Stags responded with three more goals before intermission.
Leading 8-1 at halftime, the Lady Stag coaching staff used the reserves for the majority of the second half.
