The Deer Park Airport’s $2.33 million “ramp rehabilitation” project received a new lease on life when the U.S. Senate on Friday approved legislation ending the two-week-old Federal Aviation Administration partial shutdown.
The ramp rehab project, which included new runway edge and beacon lighting and a new fuel disbursement system, was put on hold when the Senate refused to pass a House-approved bill before going on a month-long summer break.
The city had hired Kilgore Construction Co. in July with a 90-day window to complete the project.
Funeral services were Aug. 9 at the Church of the Nazarene in Deer Park, with the Rev. Ron Molina officiating, for Deer Park resident Aurora L. Dizmang, who passed away on Aug. 5 in Spokane.
Born in 1917 in Cleveland, Ga., she was a high school graduate and a longtime owner and operator of a custom drapery business.
She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene.
Her husband, Frank Dizmang, and a son, John Bryan, predeceased her.
Ramona Cline, 97, a very, very longtime resident of the Twin Mountain/Williams Valley area of Deer Park entered into rest on Friday, Aug. 5, 2011, due to a fall and broken hip on her 97th birthday.
