Deer Park Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 3067 gave the Gulf War Memorial at the city’s Bluebird Park a new lease on life on Friday.
The post, through financial and material donations and volunteer labor, revamped the memorial to honor the armed forces the members of the armed forces who were killed or injured in various wars since 1776.
Former VFW Commander Jay Wood hopes the new memorial will make Deer Park known as the “City of Honor and Remembrance.”
